The 1955 501's look like the have a closer fit, tighter maybe. They cost 10x as much as regular run of the mill 501's as well. I've now lost 208 pounds and I'm nearly to my goal weight and old jeans sizes of 32 inches.

Understanding the Context

So I'm trying to figure which 501 Jean's to get. I know those here know... The good news is that Levis has recently launched (or re-launched?) their "skinny leg" jeans, which harken back to the fit and cut of the classic Levis like the 505. I have a few questions about Levis 501 vintage .

Key Insights

I have some 1947 model bought a few years ago , model 47501-0136 with Cone Denim from north Carolina . It... I hate the way Levis mark their jeans with the size that they are, rather than the size that they shrink to. I had a similar experience to yours with a pair of 30x32 1937s - they're currently up for sale on eBay! The problem in the US with Levis Vintage is availability- they are actually made in large numbers but they sell way more in Europe than they do in the US- American demand and interest is pretty low, which seems strange- but then maybe a lot of Americans don't want to spend so much on a pair of jeans- accurate repro or not.

Final Thoughts

Picked up a made in America Levis Trucker jacket. It has the small e and 4 pockets but the back label says made in USA. So the 4 pockets makes it mid 80s to present and the made in USA puts it pre 2003 is this correct? Is there anyway to narrow down the time more? Thanks.
