When you see unexpected charges from Microsoft in a monthly statement from your bank, credit card, or any other payment provider, we want to help you resolve your questions as quickly as possible. New: We now offer a way to investigate a charge from Microsoft on any card you own - see below. We're dedicated to making your gaming experience the best that it can be.

Understanding the Context

With help from the Xbox community, we can investigate issues and unexpected behaviours in games, apps, and on your Windows device or Xbox console. You can report your issues by using the Report a Problem app on Xbox consoles or the Windows Feedback Hub on Windows devices. Follow the instructions to sign in to Manage your payments and use the Investigate feature. You’ll be prompted to enter your credit card’s security details and then select the charge you don’t recognize to find out which Microsoft account was used to make that purchase.

Key Insights

You can investigate changes to your account info as well as any transactions that you don’t recognise. To view recent charges on your account, select Order history. You can customize the date range by choosing your beginning and end dates. The grand total includes taxes. Make sure to choose the most accurate option from the list, as this helps Xbox Safety properly investigate the complaint.
